Past 100...

Started on January 12, 2005 with Blogging for the first time, now this blog has 102 posts including this one. With only about 7 or 8 hits per day, it is just in a corner of the cyber world. Occasionally, it shows up in the search results. If you have stumbled upon this blog, please take sometime and post what you like/dislike and what could've been better. I take this opportunity to thank my frequent visitors who also happen to be my best friends :-)

The Programmer's Bill of Rights

Jeff Atwood of Coding Horror has come up with The Programmer's Bill of Rights. It is the fundamental rights of every programmer. To list them,

  1. Every programmer shall have two monitors
  2. Every programmer shall have a fast PC
  3. Every programmer shall have their choice of mouse and keyboard
  4. Every programmer shall have a comfortable chair
  5. Every programmer shall have a fast Internet connection
  6. Every programmer shall have quiet working conditions

Good that my new employer provides all the above listed facilities for me :-)

Pluto - no more a planet

Source: Astronomers say Pluto is not a planet

Update: A fierce backlash has begun against the decision by astronomers to strip Pluto of its status as a planet.

It's interesting, bunch of world's renowned astronauts got together and they drew new grades to define what a planet is and what is not.

A celestial body that is in orbit around the sun, has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a ... nearly round shape, and has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit.

Pluto is automatically disqualified because its oblong orbit overlaps with Neptune's.

According to this new rule Pluto joins the list of dwarf planets with the former asteroid Ceres and 2003 UB313.

So much for learning hard to remember the names of the nine planets in school.

Texas Hold 'em Poker on Xbox 360...

...and it is free till 8/25 01:00 hrs PDT, go grab it!

I've never played poker before, not to mention that I don't know how to play. I just downloaded the game and gave a quick glance on the How to Play section and off I went checking, calling and raising adding to the pot. It is fun and I'd say a better way to enjoy the game without really losing the greenbacks :-)

Let me get back on the table now and grab that pot.

Interested in the blog posting feature of Word 2007, but don't have or want to install Word 2007, no more worries, Windows Live Writer is here for your rescue.Windows Live Writer Draft

Let's see how well it works with Blogger, I'm writing this post from Windows Live Writer. The feature I like on first look is the blog template style, it downloads the current template style of your blog, so you can have WYSIWYG feel of your post, let's see how the image in this post is showing (I've pointed to a FTP server for hosting images)

Update: Uploding image is a breeze :-)
