International Women's Day - March 8th
March 8th 1908. 15,000 women workers from the garment and textile industry marched with the demands of shorter working hours, safe working conditions and equal pay after the death of 128 women trapped in a fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York City, and they won. In the second International Women's Conference in Copenhagen - 1910, March 8th was recognized as International Working Women's day. It is recognized in most parts of the world but not in United States. In 1945, again United States opposed to recognize March 8th as International Working Women's day in the United Nations organization. At last in 1975, United States agreed for International Women's day on March 8th.
March 8th 2005. Our friends Gomathi and Ramya wanted a treat on the occasion of International Women's day. And the treat is...we (the boys, myself, Sujit and Sankar) have to prepare a delicious dinner. Needless to say the boys succeeded in serving the girls a delicious dinner. It was an evening of fun

It was a wonderful evening that we had. "Yes" the Big Boys did make some delicious cooking for us. We finished our dining by a Specially "banana+strawberry" (Doesnt it sound yummy...).
I just pray that someday..someone will change the rule and we will have more of 'Women's day" celebrations.
Raga "vermicilli upma" is not yet released due to some unavoidable issues. The expected date to "go live" is Friday March 11, 2005
Needless to say, Jee - we missed u so much
