Harmony in life

The image above shows all the remotes I've been dealing with so far, and yes it is a very difficult life ;-) That is until now, when I came back from office today, a package from Dell was awaiting at my door, Logitech Harmony 880. It took a while to configure the remote to control all the gadgets, but it is time worth spent. It even controls our Roomba :-)

Now all those remotes are replaced by this elegant beast.

Harmony in life at last!

How do you configure the universal remote? Do you have to teach it (by placing the other remote in front of this one and pressing each key)?

You do it through the harmony member site and then update your remote through USB connection. Logitech has most of the common electronic items in their database, so we don't have to make the remote learn by pressing the keys in the old remote. You also do the activity set up like, Watch TV (turn on TV, DVR, Bose and then set TV to HDMI, DVR to Live, Bose to Aux) in the site and it get pushed to the remote when you update. After that to watch TV, it's just a button press, no fumbling with three remotes :-)
